Equine Assisted Learning & Groundwork

At the foothills of the Kinglake ranges with a magnificent view of the mountains, participants can experience the benefits of Equine Assisted Learning with our beautiful horses.

Dark Horse Equestrian offers private, 1 hour ‘groundwork sessions’, for those who are unable to have riding lessons, but wish to spend time with horses. Under the close supervision of our experienced staff, you will get to know the horses, understand their body language and behaviour, groom, feed, and generally enjoy the calming experience of spending time with our beautiful, gentle, animals.

We will guide you throughout your time, teach you how to be safe around the horses and answer any questions you may have.

This experiential learning helps you to gain knowledge of caring for horses while developing confidence, self-awareness, improving communication skills and self-esteem.
